The DuDu Ride...

The Dudu Ride means "The Ducati & Durian Ride". So, need I mention, the main highlight or the main objective is...DURIAN. So me and some Ducatistas rode to Karak for breakfast and then to Bentong for a durian do.

As usual, RV at 8.30am at BhP Gombak. Then we proceed to Karak town for breakfast. This group was very fast on Karak..very fast indeed. Was struggling all the way just to catch up. But I wasn't too far behind..hehe.

So after a great nasi lemak (coconut rice)/roti canai/ half-boiled eggs, it was time to head to Bentong for the highlight..Duriansss!

It took us about 20 mins or so to reach the durian place. They sell quite a number of durian species. They have durian kampung, wild durian, and hybrids.

Everyone was a durian-hardcore...whallop all the durians that were put on our table.

Merciless..!!

The durians were awesome! And the ride home was awesome too...with all the burps in a full-face helmet! We all got sooo high..!

Hero 3 Black Edition..intriguing...

Was just browsing through the GoPro cameras and was reading about their latest edition..the Hero 3 Black Edition. A high 12MP at 30fps, built-in wifi, smaller, lighter, better wind-noise reduction, to say the least.

I am currently using the Hero 2..and this Hero 3 comes very intriguing. At this point, the RRP is MYR1,499 (approx USD489.00) and I think it'll arrive to Malaysia's shore some time in January 2013. Still got time to think about it and may be to save up some money for this 'upgrade'...what do you think?

Christmas Track Day..

A friend took a video on the track day I was at yesterday..credit goes to 75opocot .

Great fun, finally!

Today, joined a track day at the SIC and after a few failed attempts due to the rain...I made it! The weather held very well..it was cloudy and the track was dry. AWESOME!! Choosing a morning session track day, paid off..!

I was on Pirelli Rosso Corsa today. Bought these tyres for track use, but I never got the chance to use it. Finally, today I had the chance to experience it and it was great! Of course, my Battlax S20 (I use it more for daily use and touring) was good..but this Rosso Corsa 'feels' much better.

Half way through the session, I discovered that my clutch hose was touching my engine cover and it got burnt just a little bit. Lucky I saw it..otherwise..hmmm. Had to wrap it with a tape.

But all-in-all, it was a great day and a great fun. Too bad I didn't get the chance to put on my GoPro camera. Really looking forward to my next track day.

Getting ready...

Remember, in my previous entry, I said that no more track days for me until the raining season eases off..well..guest what....Nooot!!

Now changing into my track tyres..Pirelli Rosso Corsa...getting ready for tomorrow's track day. It'll be in the morning..so hopefully the weather will be good for a track day. Of late, the rain always come in the afternoon..so good luck to me!

Ducati 1199 Panigale...what can u say abt her....she's a b.e.a.u.tiful beast! Had a chance to take it for a spin a few days back at Naza showroom. Da feeling of sitting on it....da feeling of revving da engine...da feeling of throttling her up....MAAAANNN!! The only thing that is missing..is da feeling of owning it. If only my money grows on tree in my backyard....I will never look no further....da Ducati 1199 Panigale is must buy....

Karak Junkies..!

Not many places you can ride to in raining season...had a short three hours ride to Karak for breakfast with some friends....da Karak Junkies!

We did what we call..The Pace...da "Karak Pace". The Pace is not about top speed..it is only about going fast at corners..hehe. We had so much fun! May be we should do "the pace" every time we go on Karak..

King Prawn-Lunch Ride

Today, Ducati Club Malaysia (DCM) had organised a king prawn-lunch ride to Temerloh, Pahang. It is about 130 km from Kuala Lumpur (see map). Seems like the place is pretty famous even among bikers. You kinda need to call in first to reserve your prawns..haha.

Superb turn ups, about 65 DCMers joined the ride. The last time we had such numbers was at the Asia Ducati Week 2012. Superbly awesome!

We rendezvous (RV) at the usual spot, BhP Gombak at 8am. I had McDonald's on the way to RV point. Didn't want to ride with an empty stomach. The journey will take about 1.5hrs.

Due to the numbers, we had to split into four groups so that it would be safer for us and also other motorists on the road. See3! We are very considerate..! Ok! Briefing time!

We rolled out at about 8.45am, all according to our own groups. I was in Group 3, the "fast-but-not-fast-enuf" group...hehe. Went on Karak Hiway, everybody had a good pace travelling at an average speed of 160/kmh. As soon as we passed through Bentong we were caught in the rain. It rained and it rained and it rained until we had to stop. *sigh*

After 25mins, the rain didn't show any sign of stopping hence, we decided to continue our journey. We were all drenched anyway. After a 40 mins of dismal ride, we finally reached our destination. taadaaaaaa!!

Feeling very cold, we got very hungry and...it's time to eat! King prawns! Brace yourselves! 

Main course...king prawns, ulam, sambal belacan, tempoyak, and steam rice...! And for desserts...the king of fruits..DURIAN!!

After all the food and stomach was full...there's nothing much to say..hehe. All in all...it was a great ride although we were all soaking wet. Can do this again, some time...

What next?!

Another Track Day cancelled....yet again...

Sad day for me.

 Was at da Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today with all da hope to "remp-it"....BUT...it was raining and da organizer have decided to cancel it for safety reason...aaarrggh!!  Rain..rain..go away..!! Dont come on a track day...

Of course...many, including me, were frustrated..but I guess..better safe than sorry...

We ended up chit chatting, taking pictures, and making new friends..

I think that's it for me..no more track days for this month. May be next month..wait til da raining season ease off..but can i take it? One month without going to da track...eerrkk.......well, let's see...

Need for speed....

Yesterday, I took on Karak again with some friends. They were Karak-1st-timers so I took them for a stroll and had breakfast there too. One of them was riding a ZX10R..and I had a chance to take it for a spin.  :))

I rode the ZX10 from Gombak toll plaza then on da DUKE all the way to Damansara..a total of about 20km or so at an average speed of 140/kmh.

At first, it felt quite akward simply because of the sitting and handle bar positions as opposed to my Monster 795. But it only took me a short 5 minutes to get da hang of it..hehe...after that...everythg went...WOOOOW!!

I was on L mode...means not at the bike's full power. Still..the bike felt like she wants to go faster and faster and faster..awesome power. Good handling at corners..made me look like a pro...ahaks.

Bottom line...I need an SBK  :)) I kinda narrowed down to a Jap's..either a CBR1000 or a ZX10R..

Next is the challenging part...MONEY..

Motorbike shops in Hong Kong

Hi guys..am back in Kay Ell..

As mentioned in my previous entry, below are some of the motorbikes shops I went when I was in Hong Kong...

DUCATI HONG KONG 

It's just a place where they sell Ducati bikes and some Ducati apparels and accessories. It's also a service centre for Ducati. Take the MTR to Fo Tan Station, take Exit D, walk on Au Pui Wan Street, turn right into Wo Heung Street, and then turn left into Wo Shing Street. (URL)

HUNG HING STORE

This store is on Jordan Street. Take the MTR to Lok Fu Station, take Exit B, and get on Jordan Street and walk downwards. I think it's about 5km walk from the Lok Fu Station. (yes, it was one hell of a walk for me!). This store sells a lot of Arai helmets and a little bit of apparels and accessories. Unless you want to look for Arai helmets, you don't need to go.

SANWA MOTORCYCLE COMPANY

I found this shop by chance. It is the same block as Hung Hing Store. It's more of a motorbikes service centre but they do sell some helmets (mostly HJC) and apparels and accessories. I got some of my HJC helmet's replacement parts from this store. If you are coming from the Lok Fu Station, you will see this store first before Hung Hing Store.

MOTORMART CO LTD

This is the store that I wanted to go so much. They sell apparels and accessories, and from their website, it looks like they have quite a range of products and brands. I wanted to check out the Komine riding pants but too my frustration, when I got there..the shop was closed. They are closed on Mondays!!  Aaaarrggh!! Anyhow, I think this store is a must go.  (URL)

Well, these are the shops that I was recommended to go except for the Sanwa store which I found it by chance. I didn't get the chance to pay a visit to Dainese Hong Kong outlet. No regrets though.. don't think I can afford Dainese  ;))  

There are other motorbike stores around Hong Kong. There's a shop selling Shoei helmets near the Ladies Market and I'm pretty sure I saw a few others when I was busy being a tourist.

Try googgling them.

Am still in Hong Kong...been thking of paying a visit to Dainese Hong Kong outlet...but when I saw the map...i thk it's too far off (click on see map)..am staying at Nathan Road, Kowloon area..perhaps I should just settle for Motomart which is much closer to my hotel.

Hong Kong, here I come...

Am at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) now..waiting to board my flight to Hong Kong. Taking my kiddos to the Disneyland. So, no biking activities whatsoever for a bit until Dec, 06..............mmmm.................

Anyway, hope I can pay a visit to Ducati Hong Kong..or may be do a shopping on some bike apparels and/or accessories..  ;))

Breakfast @ Karak 25.11.12

Me and some dudes went up to Karak for breakfast on the 25th Nov 2012..this was also the day one of my friends crashed on the way to there. Oh..an update on him..no scratches, broke his collar bone and 2 left ribs..no spine injury. He should be back in action in a short few months, i hope..

Anyhow..the weather was good..the company was great and so as the food. I have divided the video into two parts. One part is going to Karak and the other is riding back to Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the video...

Fun turned sour.....

This morning, me and some friends rode to Karak for breakfast. On the way, one of us had a crash. Thank God the car behind him didn't run over him. Rider suffers broken colar and 1-2 ribs. He was complaining about his back, hopefully his spine is ok.

His bike is in a pretty bad shape, well, lucky it's not him who is in a bad shape.

I had my GoPro camera on this morning, you can check it out when I upload the video.

Anyhow...I pray for your speedy recovery bro and am sure glad that you're still alive..!

Is rain an enemy..?

Last nite, I couldn't wait for this morning coz me and my dudes were planning to take on Karak and have breakfast at the well-known "nasi lemak gerai bawah pokok" and everybody was so looking forward to it until....it rained...

It rained since 2am last nite until early this morning. Karak can get pretty slippery when it rains..thus......*sigh

So...is the rain an enemy...?

Track Bike Wanted!

After a few sessions at the track..I feel that there's a few limitations of a naked bike. Hence, am thinking whether I should get a superbike (sbk) as a "track bike". Will it be worth the investment? Well, having said that, I dont think that I'm going for a brand new bike. I think a 2nd hand or a re-cond bike suffice.

A 600cc bike or 1000cc bike?
A japanese bike or an italian?
A CBR or a Kawasaki? Or a Yamaha?

Dang i'm in a dilemma..!!

SIC Open Track Day 21 Nov 2012

Yesterday, I joined the SIC Open Track Day. The weather was perfect and there were not many bikers so the track was kinda "empty". That was so cool considering I had three attempts to Track Days but all of them was cancelled due to the rain. So yesterday was rather a "balas dendam" day. Only thing is that, I have not been on the track for almost a month and a half and you kinda get 'scared' of the corners...hehehe. My best laptime was 3m10s...hahahaha...bluuueerkk!

Anyhow, I got it on video. Some parts are quite shaky and I apologize. Ciao!
